Protecting Our Way of Life

Stay up to date

It is important I know what matters to you in order to be your voice in the Queensland Parliament.

It is important I know what matters to you in order to be your voice in the Queensland Parliament.
I will work with all levels of government to protect our way of life.

The pressure of a growing population on our struggling infrastructure means I must fight to be at the forefront of change, pushing the Government to meet our needs before it is too late.

We need better public transport, safer roads and well-resourced schools. The Sunshine Coast is the second fastest growing region in Queensland and we will be supporting 470,000 people by 2036. We must plan for more schools, more jobs, equitable access to health care, and make sure our neighbourhoods are safe.

Will you join the conversation and work with me to make a better Buderim Electorate? I will try to make it easier for you to share your thoughts by doorknocking and by hosting mobile offices throughout the electorate.

You may also choose to follow me on Facebook, complete my 30 second survey, sign up to receive my e-newsletter, or simply call my office and have a chat.

I am proud to be a member of David Crisafulli’s LNP team, and together we are committed to securing Queensland’s future.

Queenslanders rely on the efforts of volunteers, but participation numbers have fallen.

That's why if elected in October we will order a Parliamentary Inquiry into Breaking Down Barriers to Volunteering.

Volunteers do vital work and under the LNP they will be supported.

I've got some ideas, talk to the organisations run by volunteers 🙋‍♀️

This photo was taken in 1931 on Jones Road, Buderim, looking towards the Maroochy River.

Here’s a short and sharp summary of how I advocated on your behalf in Queensland Parliament this week:

🚨 Supported the LNP’s commitment to remove detention as a last resort from the Youth Justice Act to tackle the Youth Crime Crisis, after the Premier misled Parliament by rewording the Act in a desperate attempt to win votes.

🏥 Questioned the capacity for mental health patients at hospitals within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.

👩🏻 Enquired about funding available to local organisations like Magnolia Health who help woman with painful conditions like endometriosis.

✈️ Backed calls for the Premier to reveal how much taxpayer cash he spent on chartering two luxury private jets in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis.

✏️ Requested an update on the delivery of the Dementia Support Skills Set under the Fee Free TAFE program.

👌🏼 Marked the start of Small Business Month by meeting with some of Queensland’s hardworking small business owners. I encourage everyone to support local when they can, especially during May.

Great to have Shadow Treasurer David Janetzki MP here today 👍 I took the opportunity to show him around our community and discuss what needs improvement.

High on the list is for the Sippy Downs Police Station to be upgraded to operate 24/7 so our hardworking police are better resourced to tackle crime in the area and be more proactive with community engagement.

There is still time to sign the petition: www.brentmickelberg.com.au/petition-for-24-7-police-station/

May is Small Business Month 👍

We have so many great small and family businesses here on the Sunshine Coast and right across Queensland. It can be tough being in business with rising costs, so let's show them some extra support.

Small businesses are vital for local economies and employment. They are often the lifeblood of each community, the ones that sponsor local sports teams and donate to school fundraisers.

There are about 482,000 small businesses in Queensland - 97% of all businesses.
