Protecting Our Way of Life

Stay up to date

It is important I know what matters to you in order to be your voice in the Queensland Parliament.

It is important I know what matters to you in order to be your voice in the Queensland Parliament.
I will work with all levels of government to protect our way of life.

The pressure of a growing population on our struggling infrastructure means I must fight to be at the forefront of change, pushing the Government to meet our needs before it is too late.

We need better public transport, safer roads and well-resourced schools. The Sunshine Coast is the second fastest growing region in Queensland and we will be supporting 470,000 people by 2036. We must plan for more schools, more jobs, equitable access to health care, and make sure our neighbourhoods are safe.

Will you join the conversation and work with me to make a better Buderim Electorate? I will try to make it easier for you to share your thoughts by doorknocking and by hosting mobile offices throughout the electorate.

You may also choose to follow me on Facebook, complete my 30 second survey, sign up to receive my e-newsletter, or simply call my office and have a chat.

I am proud to be a member of David Crisafulli’s LNP team, and together we are committed to securing Queensland’s future.

Another big week of Parliament done ✅ Here’s a short summary of how I advocated for our community:

🛤️ Put a question to the Transport Minister over proposed changes to the exisiting rail corridor as part of the Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line project, and whether our community will be impacted by property acquisitions.

😷 Questioned the Premier over the lack of reporting on asbestos in schools across Queensland. Parents and school staff deserve to know of any asbestos detections far sooner than what’s being made public.

📚Requested a breakdown in funding for maintenance of all state schools in our community to ensure we are getting our fair share and that local schools are properly maintained.

❌ Supported legislation to ban dangerous dogs like pit bull terriers in Queensland.

⚡️Supported moves to provide Queensland with a pathway to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, while advocating to ensure renewable projects benefit the regional communities where they are constructed and that there is a proper planning and approval process.

🚨Raised the need for better State Government representation in the seat of Nicklin, especially relating to police resources in Nambour and the Hinterland.

👍🏼 Congratulated Sunshine Coast Councillors Cr Ted Hungerford and Councillor Christian Dickson - Division 6 on their recent reelection to Sunshine Coast Council.

💰Acknowledged the Buderim Foundation’s 20th anniversary and thanked the volunteers. The Buderim Foundation has given $1,791,000 to the Sunshine Coast community, including community grants for almost 100 groups within the 4556 postcode.

🤍 Offered condolences to the family of Dr Ashlee Good who once worked as an Osteopath in Buderim. Ash was violently killed in the Bondi Junction attacks and used her dying moments to save her baby daughter, Harriet. I encourage everyone to visit a Go Fund Me page set up to support her husband and baby.

Before Dr Ashlee Good moved to Sydney and started her family, she worked as an osteopath in Buderim.

Ash was violently and senselessly killed at Bondi Junction a week ago, and used her dying moments to save her baby daughter.

I’m encouraging the Sunshine Coast community to get behind a Go Fund Me page set up in her name. www.gofundme.com/f/Ash-Good

FLASHBACK FRIDAY 📷

The Buderim to Palmwoods Tramway was officially opened in 1915 and operated until 1935. Only two steam engines ever worked the line - a Krauss (pictured) and a Shay.

The Buderim - Palmwoods Heritage Tramway Inc. volunteers have worked hard to obtain and restore the old Krauss, with plans to display it in the heart of Buderim.

Those were the days!

Our community is fed up. Another week of local homes broken into and tradies losing their way to earn a living. Enough is enough.

The Labor State Government does not take the Youth Crime Crisis seriously. That was made clear in Parliament this week.

If elected in October, the LNP will:

✅ Strengthen laws and remove detention as a last resort from the Youth Justice Act.

✅ Put victims’ rights first.

✅ Provide gold standard early intervention.

✅ Put more police on the front line.

In the dead of night the Palasczuk-Miles Government walked away from seeking genuine solutions to fix the Queensland Youth Crime Crisis.

They don't take youth crime seriously. They’ve given up on tackling the Youth Crime Crisis.

It was great to see some of the Sunshine Coast Lightning at Parliament House this week to help launch the 2024 netball season.

The Lightning are off to a ripper start after a convincing win in Round One at the University of the Sunshine Coast arena last weekend. I'm looking forward to taking my family to a few games this season.
